Carter calls on recognising Hamas, condemns Israel’s crimes
Gaza, (Palestine Telegraph) – Former U.S president, Jimmy carter, called the U.S government to recognise Hamas movement which Washington deemed previously as “terrorist” organization. Carter confirmed this view in a joint article with Marry Robinson, the former Ireland president, published in Foreign Policy magazine. He described the massacres committed by Israel against Palestinians in Gaza as humanitarian disaster. Carter added in his article, “there is no humanitarian or legal excuse for Israel’s manner which adopted a war against the Palestinians in Gaza” as Israeli bombings destroyed wide parts of Gaza strip including thousands of houses, schools and hospitals. Cater emphasized on the attacks which targeted civilians as war crime that require punishment of the perpetrators. The former U.S president, demanded U.S and UN to recognise that Hamas it is not a terrorist organization buta political force.
