British Foreign Secretary refrains from describing Israeli actions as war crimes

Posted on by paltelegraph

London, (Palestine Telegraph) – On the 14th of July, Israeli war on Gaza was a topic for discussion at the Houses of Commons, where a number of MPs expressed their deep concern and asked the British government to act immediately.
Sir Bob Russell (Colchester) (LD) asked the following question to Foreign Secretary: Will the Foreign Secretary confirm that the actions of Israeli political and military leaders constitute war crimes?
Mr Hague answred: “I think that that relates to the question that I have just answered from the hon. Member for Kilmarnock and Loudoun (Cathy Jamieson), in that it is not possible for us at this distance and without a presence on the ground to assess every single thing that happens within Gaza.”
He indirectly justified the Israeli attacks on Gaza by adopting the Israeli position which claims that civilian areas are sued to fire rockets at Israel.

His statements came hours before he left the office as new government reshuffle is taking place.
